I bought a small unrooted stump in May 2012 for £15. marked as a 3" trunk it was actually more like 6" as half had been buried. I re-potted it with only about 1cm of the trunk in the compost so I could get more height
July - first flush

June, now planted out it still has the leaves from the last picture, but they have browned
9th June - A new flush of fronds emerging
