Strelitzia Reginae

2015

August - Purchased for £5 from a local nursery, looking a bit of a mess

I re-potted it and kept it in the conservatory, by December it looked like this, lopsided but has put on good growth

2016

March - I Re-potted it again to a more ornamental pot and straightened the lean of the main plant. total height is around 70cm from the top of the pot

26th July - Been outside a couple of months now

December 4th. I accidentally left this outdoors and it got frosted a few times by -2/3c. some leaves are browned, but it has a flower spike! hopefully I havent killed it.

I have brought it into the conservatory now rather than the greenhouse to try and get the flower to grow. I am also trying out taking a time lapse of the flower growth

Update 29th March 2017
The flower didn't grow, I put it in the greenhouse in January.
I checked on it in the greenhouse and it looks like leaving it out in the frost did indeed kill it as the whole top has rotted off. will update this later if it comes back to life
