Banana Plant Growth Comparison

I have just planted out or moved these different banana types to the same area, I'll take some pictures over the year to compare growth rates

Here is the starting point:

The first thing I notice is that Basjoo has started into growth the best, but Xishuangbannaensis (from here on referred to as Mekong giant for obvious reasons) has started off at the same growth rate as the larger Sikkimensis next to it

The transplanted bananas have grown poorly, hopefully with more roots down they will grow better next year. the best grower of all has been the ensete montbelliardii which has grown from 18" to 9ft so far
